Student Spotlight - Yuning Hou

Yuning Hou is a second year Ph.D student. His research project is investigating the role of CXCR2 in endothelial progenitor cells (EPC) in myocardial infarction. His committee members are Drs. David Evans, Jianjun Wang, Meng-jer Lee and his advisor Chunying Li. He has 6 publications and two conference abstracts. Yuning obtained his M.S. degree in the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2012. His M.S. research project was to study the CXCR2 PDZ domain mediated protein-protein interaction in head and neck squamous carcinoma. During his M.S. studies, his research received first prize at the 2012 Windsor Cancer Research group biennial conference in the clinical science category.
